This leader is responsible for establishing a strategy and associated roadmap, to deliver a comprehensive communications framework, serving members, providers, and cross-functional internal teams, for the Optum Prior Authorization Organization.    

You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead capability strategy, understanding customer, business, and operations needs
  • Define and execute against capability roadmaps that focus initially on minimally viable deliverables, while contemplating the near and long-term future enhancements that increase that value over time; draw on an agile mindset
  • Collaborate with internal leaders and external partners to gain an understanding of their business needs and adapt strategy, priorities, and business plans accordingly
  • Address operational challenges with both technical and non-technical solutions
  • Understand the user experience and deliver solutions that delight
  • Lead change and innovation by pursuing opportunities to adopt new technologies and drive adoption to enhance business outcomes
  • Drive and manage high-quality execution across organizational lines
  • Communicate strategy, business value, and customer success with impact, and influence stakeholders to achieve win-win solutions that advance the organizational goals
  • Drive to understand the "why" and connect the benefit of technology to the business capability and be able to clearly articulate this to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience as a product owner, business analyst and/or related role that involves defining and implementing capabilities or complex business processes
  • 3+ years of Prior Authorization experience
  • Experience in systematically analyzing processes and problems, drawing relevant conclusions, and devising appropriate course to resolution
  • Experience in verbal and visual presentation skills, as well as solid written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Proven effective collaboration skills with cross-functional teams resulting in conflict resolution, issue resolution, and successful outcomes
  • Proven ability to support scheduled and emergency system implementation releases, including availability during occasional weekends and non standard hours as business needs require

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience developing a strategy, prioritizing strategic deliverables on a plan/roadmap, and engaging stakeholders to maintain awareness and alignment  
  • Experience managing a product or capability roadmap and ensuring strategic alignment with the organizational vision
  • Experience utilizing user experience collateral such as personas, journey maps, etc.
  • Experience collaborating with and influencing senior level leaders and gaining consensus
  • Experience with OptumRx systems such as PAS/PANDA (Prior Authorization System / Prior Authorization Network Decisioning Application) and/or RxClaims

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $91,700 to $163,700 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
