The Charge Capture - Coding Analyst supports accurate coding, charge capture, billing compliance, and revenue integrity for Cardiac Catheterization and Interventional Radiology services. The role analyzes clinical documentation, coded data, charging workflows, and reimbursement requirements; identifies operational and compliance opportunities; and partners with clinical, coding, billing, and information technology teams to implement effective solutions.

Primary Responsibilities:  

  • Review Cardiac Catheterization, Electrophysiology (EP), and Interventional Radiology documentation, coding, and charge capture processes to ensure accuracy, completeness, regulatory compliance, and optimal reimbursement
  • Perform comprehensive audits and analyses of coding, billing, and charge capture practices to identify revenue leakage, compliance risks, and opportunities for process improvement
  • Research and resolve complex coding, documentation, billing, and reimbursement issues related to Cardiac Catheterization and Interventional Radiology services
  • Maintain expertise in CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10-CM, NCCI edits, Medicare guidance, and payer-specific policies, and communicate relevant updates to operational and clinical stakeholders
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and trusted resource for Cardiac Catheterization, EP Lab, and Interventional Radiology coding, billing, and revenue integrity practices
  • Develop and deliver education and training on coding, documentation, charge capture, reimbursement, and compliance requirements
  • Partner with physicians, department leaders, facility staff, revenue cycle teams, and operational stakeholders to improve coding accuracy, documentation quality, charge capture, and reimbursement outcomes
  • Evaluate new and existing services to ensure appropriate charge capture processes, coding compliance, and alignment with industry and organizational best practices
  • Identify system, workflow, and operational improvement opportunities and participate in the development and implementation of solutions that enhance billing accuracy and revenue performance
  • Support EHR optimization and implementation initiatives by providing coding, charging, and revenue integrity expertise
  • Coordinate and lead revenue integrity initiatives that strengthen compliant revenue capture through reimbursement analysis, workflow optimization, audit findings, and process improvements
  • Prioritize and manage multiple projects and assignments while independently investigating and resolving complex issues within the area of expertise
  • Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in supporting evolving departmental, regulatory, and organizational priorities

Required Qualifications: 

  • Ability to obtain the Certified Interventional Radiology and Cardiovascular Coder (CIRCC) certification within one year of hire
  • Active coding certification through AAPC or AHIMA (e.g., CPC, CCS, RHIT, RHIA, or equivalent)
  • 3+ years of healthcare coding, billing, revenue cycle, revenue integrity, compliance, or charge capture experience, including direct experience with Cardiac Catheterization and Interventional Radiology services
  • Experience using Epic to support coding review, charge capture, documentation validation, and revenue integrity activities
  • Proven solid knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10-CM, NCCI edits, modifiers, medical necessity requirements, and documentation standards applicable to Cardiac Catheterization and Interventional Radiology services
  • Demonstrated understanding of hospital, clinic, and healthcare facility operations, including revenue cycle and reimbursement processes
  • Experience analyzing coding, billing, charge capture, and reimbursement data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
  • Proven solid analytical, critical thinking, root cause analysis, and problem-solving skills
  • Proven excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively present findings, recommendations, and educational content to clinical, operational, and leadership audiences.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Current CIRCC certification
  • 3+ years of facility coding experience in a hospital or health system setting
  • Experience supporting Revenue Integrity, Charge Capture, Charge Description Master (CDM), or Revenue Cycle initiatives
  • Experience with reimbursement analysis, revenue leakage identification, auditing, and charge capture optimization
  • Experience participating in EHR implementations, system enhancements, or workflow improvement initiatives

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $72,800 - $130,000 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
