The technology product management organization designs, develops, and manages activities for a specific product or group of products, from product definition and planning through production, release, and end-of-life. It is responsible for management of the full product lifecycle with a technical focus, including the strategy, design, development, management, and end-of-life of new, existing, or acquired products. The organization leverages market insights and emerging technology developments and trends to understand market/customer needs, as well as identify new opportunities or adjust current product offerings. Team members balance deep subject matter expertise with knowledge of business use cases and strong technical aptitude. The organization is accountable for delivering product performance in alignment with expectations and updates changes to a product portfolio to improve competitive position and produce optimal product performance to meet customer and market needs. It is accountable to the Optum Serve business line P&L owners and is responsible for cross-functional stakeholder management, including (but not limited to) design, engineering, scrum teams, and business leaders. To deliver on the organization's responsibility, the Associate Tech Product Manager position conducts the following:
Supports jobs to aid product managers and teams
Understands the "what & why" of user stories, their relationship to features, and how each may impact the user
Demonstrates empathy for the customer journey; understands applicable personas
Identifies and appropriately leverages SMEs
Understands overall product strategy and roadmap
Understands the demand, priorities, and scrum team capacity
Ensure user stories are directly tied to OKRs
Supports team in decomposing features into manageable user stories and collaborates with Business Partners to gather any information required for user story creation
Supports backlog prioritization
Collaborates with team well, positively influencing user story outcomes
Attends training to further advance knowledge
Operates in an ambiguous and dynamic environment and adopts a growth mindset

Required Qualifications:
HS Diploma or GED equivalent
1+ years of experience in product management or technology delivery roles
1+ years of experience working in an agile or scaled agile development environment
1+ years of experience in analyzing customer needs, customer engagement, and product performance
1+ years of experience executing work across matrixed product teams

Preferred Qualifications:
Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
Certified Scrum Product Owner
LESS certification
Ability to present complex ideas in a clear, concise fashion to technical and non-technical audiences
Experience with application development and software integration
Solid research and problem-solving skills
Ability to use quantitative and qualitative data to make recommendations
Ability to use straightforward, structured communication when connecting with stakeholders
Demonstrated ability to achieve goals in a matrix environment
Experience in Healthcare
Experience working with state or federal government clients, including the bidding and implementation process
Experience leveraging AI tools in the software development (or product) lifecycle in order to improve quality and efficiency.

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The hourly pay for this role will range from $60,200 to $107,400 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
