The SCA Pharmacy Clerk perform duties and responsibilities related to the general overall support of entire Distribution Operations Center (DOC). 

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Scanning: Sort, prepare and scan medical documentation into OptumServe and Government furnished databases. Prepare original documentation for return shipment back to the customer and catalogue non-returnable documents for later disposition. Complete tasks utilizing Government furnished databases to review medical requirements and create orders to assist other departments within OptumServe
  • Mentor Associate staff with practical skills and hands-on training
  • Work with DOC leadership to create and update DOC training and DMS resources for DOC employees, including but not limited to SOPs, work instructions, policies, and process flows
  • Provide feedback to DOC leadership on DOC operational processes and concerns
  • Maintain high production volume and quality by setting work standards to meet and exceed daily work force metrics
  • Contribute continuous improvement ideas in association with OptumServe and DOC lean six sigma initiatives
  • Gain knowledge and exhibit production efficiency across multiple work areas with the DOC
  • Other: Assist additional OptumServe departments outside of the DOC with all other operational tasks 
  • Performs all other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED OR 2+ years of applicable military experience
  • 1+ years of computer proficiency experience with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to perform operational tasks in two or more areas within the DOC
  • Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
  • Ability to work while standing for extended periods of time
  • Ability to provide on-call phone support at night and on weekends within a rotation schedule
  • Capable of lifting 35lbs frequently (34-66% of the time). Physical ability to bend, reach, twist, package and transport (shift/roll/push/pull) multi-sized packages that range from 10 - 35lbs frequently and 50+lbs occasionally to rarely with assistance
  • Availability to work occasional weekends as required, roughly 5% per year 
  • Valid driver's license 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Higher education degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business or other related field
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a warehouse/distribution environment working with inventory management processes and shipping and receiving carriers. Knowledge of safety standards in a warehouse environment
  • OSHA Safety certification
  • Knowledge of vaccine cold chain management and procedures
  • Experience with Government contracting or military environment
  • Knowledge of military medical readiness requirements

  • Must be dependable with the ability to perform responsibilities with minimal or zero supervision
  • Adaptive to changing business requirements while maintaining productivity and a positive work environment
  • Ability to work independently and maintain good judgment and accountability 
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with health care providers 
  • Strong organizational and time management skills 
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks to meet all deadlines 
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to speak clearly and concisely, conveying information in a manner that others can understand, as well as ability to understand and interpret information from others 

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $16 - $29 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
