Provide strategic leadership to a team of analysts, ensuring sustained productivity, high-quality output, and the successful delivery of complex initiatives aligned with organizational objectives
and timelines. Serve as the ultimate decision authority and primary escalation point for critical issues within the team. Business Architecture Analysts under your leadership will drive the
interpretation of complex business needs and the translation of those needs into comprehensive technical software requirements and specifications for large-scale programs and strategic contract pursuits. This role also oversees the development of robust, end‑to‑end testing Exported from Confluence Optum Serve strategies to ensure solutions are delivered with precision, meet defined outcomes, and support broader enterprise goals.

You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage, guide, mentor, and support team members
  • Engage with product and technology leaders to gain understanding of the business strategy, vision and priority
  • Foster a culture of collaboration and technical excellence, encouraging continuous learning, innovation, and cross-functional partnership across product, engineering, and business domains
  • Lead the team to systematically gather and validate comprehensive technical requirements, conduct rigorous analysis, and design robust architectural solutions in partnership with
  • Solutions and Software Architects that fully align with contractual deliverables and the organizationʼs business objectives
  • Work in close partnership with product and engineering leaders to decompose emerging growth opportunities, contract changes, and priority business or technical initiatives, collaborating to provide overall leadership and support across the project
  • Oversee the continuous development of the teamʼs technical competencies by establishing growth expectations, providing targeted coaching, promoting ongoing learning, and ensuring the team maintains the expertise required to deliver high‑quality architectural solutions
  • Develop staff KPIʼs and goals consistent with business and departmental requirements and goals
  • Administration of department policy and procedures to include performance reviews, handling employee issues, monitoring PTO (Paid Time Off), timesheet approval, interviewing, oversight
    of new hire training, professional growth and performance, and routine departmental tasks

Required Qualifications:

  • 6+ years experience developing technical requirements for the implementation of new software, with demonstrated strength in engineering or technical architecture disciplines
  • 2+ years experience developing test cases for implemented software
  • 3+ years experience in supporting software delivery for use in support of Federal clients
  • 3+ years experience leading a team of IT professionals in software or product development, directly or indirectly Exported from Confluence Optum Serve
  • Experience in technical writing and/or software documentation
  • Experience in Federal security and compliance frameworks, including NIST (800‑series), FedRAMP, and FISMA
  • Proven solid analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated technical depth, such as hands‑on engineering experience, systems architecture expertise, or a comparable technical skillset that enables effective collaboration with development teams and stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a health care environment
  • Experience leading a team of 10 or more individuals
  • Demonstrated successful implementation of large-scale technology projects

This position will support Optum Serveʼs performance of a United States (U.S.) Government contract and will require the successful applicant to access and/or process Non Critical Sensitive information (Personally Identifiable Information [PII]/Protected Health Information [PHI]) from or contained in a U.S.  Government IT system.

To fulfill the data and IT system access requirements for this position, the successful applicant will be required to successfully complete a Trustworthy Determination, which will require the
successful applicant to:  1) be a U.S. citizen 2) pass a National Agency Check with law enforcement in order to obtain the access privileges required by the position and 3) pass a Credit Check in order to obtain the access privileges required by the position

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $112,700    to $193,200 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
