Working Schedule: A 37.5 hour week between the hours ofMonday -Friday 7am to 6pm; With a Saturday 8am to 4pm on a rotationalbasis. The schedule will be determined by the supervisor upon hire.
Location: Suite 215 1 Dakota Dr, New Hyde Park, NY 11042
Primary Responsibilities:
- Greets patients, family members and guests with a friendly smile
- Verifies insurance eligibility and benefit information; informs patients of insurance benefits
- Planning and building the procedure schedules and confirming patients on the schedule
- Ability to maintain a work queue list- complete any pending actions i.e. referrals, scheduling appointments
- Check In and Check Out patients
- Answers incoming phone calls in a courteous and prompt manner; directs calls and takes messages
- Sends patient records to primary care physician
- Assists with other tasks as assigned
- Obtain accurate and updated patient information, such as name, address and insurance information
- Obtain patient signatures for required documents
- Adhere to the standards identified via Sparq regarding Optum Employee Policies
- Work cohesively with fellow employees to achieve specific team goals
- Comfortable working in high pace environment

Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma/GED
1+ years of computer proficiency experience in Microsoft Office
1+ years of customer service or healthcare related experience
Ability to abide by Optum guidelines including being on time for shift
Preferred Qualifications:
1+ years of experience working in medical front office position
Experience working with an electronic health record (EPIC)
Knowledge of medical terms
Ability to be empathetic and kind towards patients
Ability to work independently and maintain good judgment and accountability
Demonstrated ability to work well with health care providers
Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $16.15 to $28.80 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
