This position is full time (40 hours per week) working four 10-hour shifts. Employees are required to work during normal business hours of 2:00 PM - 12:30 AM PST. Based on business needs, occasional overtime or weekend work may be required, and may also require occasional onsite meetings as business needs dictate.

We offer 2-3 weeks of paid training. The hours during training will be 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday - Friday.  Training will be conducted onsite.  

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist RN Case Managers with arrangements related to transitions of care from acute care, sub-acute and skilled facilities.
  • Assist in telephone call queue.
  • Contact Members and Family Members and collaborate with hospital personnel to exchange information required in the expedition of transition of care.
  • Daily update and dissemination of the Discharge Transport Log and any other logs and reports as assigned to all stakeholders.
  • Verify insurance eligibility.
  • Assist RN Case Managers, RN Supervisor and Manager with tasks and duties as assigned.
  • Problem solve routine to complex issues related to inpatient and skilled nursing facility cases.

This is high volume, customer service environment. You'll need to be efficient, productive and thorough dealing with our members over the phone. You also must be able to work a flexible schedule that includes evening hours.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma / GED OR equivalent work experience
  • Must be 18 years of age OR older
  • 2+ years of experience in a healthcare facility, medical office, hospital, or managed care setting
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Data entry skills 
  • Basic computer skills in Microsoft applications - Microsoft Excel (creating and updating spreadsheets) and Microsoft Word (creating, updating, and formatting documents)
  • Attend onsite training for 2-3 weeks at Las Vegas, NV office
  • This position is full-time 40 hours per week (4 days, 10-hour shift). Employees are required to work our normal business hours of 2:00 pm - 12:30 am PST. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime or weekends

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations applicable to the operating unit

Telecommuting Requirements:

  • Reside within 50 miles of Las Vegas, NV office
  • Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
  • Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy.
  • Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service.

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $17.98 - $32.12 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
