The Health and Wellness Coach engages with members in person, by phone, and through virtual platforms to help them adopt lifestyle changes that enhance their overall health and well-being. This role also represents the program publicly, serving as an educator and promoter at health fairs, provider offices, and worksite wellness seminars.  This position operates within a fast paced wellness department, requiring the ability to shift priorities quickly and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

This is a telecommute role for candidates residing in the Las Vegas, NV area, with the expectation of traveling locally up to 50% of the time to facilitate health education classes, conduct member consultations, participate in community health events and marketing programs and services to stakeholders.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Registered Nurses, Registered Dietitians, and Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor to support behavior change in areas such as nutrition, weight management, heart health, physical activity, diabetes prevention, stress management, and healthy sleep
  • Coordinate, develop, and deliver a variety of health education programs, including individual consultations and group classes focused on disease management, prevention, and overall well being
  • Use motivational interviewing and goal setting strategies (including SMART goals) to guide members, including families and children, toward healthier lifestyle habits
  • Maintain accurate documentation, reports, and evaluations of health education activities
  • Connect members with appropriate resources aligned with the Whole Person Care model
  • Support population health outreach by attending health fairs, facilitating wellness seminars, and educating provider and employer groups about program offerings and referral processes

Required Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of experience in related wellness and/or health promotion activities
  • Intermediate experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of physical activity, nutrition and stress management related to promotion of healthy lifestyles and overall wellness
  • Driver's License and access to a reliable transportation

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., health promotion, health education, public health, exercise science)
  • Certified Personal Trainer
  • Experience in the wellness industry
  • Fluent in Spanish
  • Excellent time management, problem solving, and communication skills
  • Proven track record of motivating people to make healthy lifestyle changes

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $23.89 to $42.69 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
