The Ultrasound Technician is responsible for operation sonographic equipment and for performing and communicating results of diagnostic examination using sonography. Responsible for daily operation within the Imaging - Ultrasound Department, including patient schedules, reporting equipment failures and quality assessment.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Following physician's orders, performs clinical assessment and diagnostic sonography examinations. (OB,ABD, Small parts, and Vascular)
- Uses cognitive sonographic skills to identify record and adapt procedures as appropriate to anatomical, pathological, diagnostic information and images
- Greets, correctly identifies patient, prepares patient for examination and explains specific procedures to be performed in appropriate confidential area
- Analyses sonograms, synthesizes sonographic information and medical history and communicates findings to the appropriate physician
- Accurately maintains patient imaging records, utilizing the Radiology Information System (R.I.S., and PACS/Synapse application in accordance with HIPPA and company guidelines, policies and procedures
- Obtains pertinent medical history from the patient, prepares preliminary reports for radiologist and contacts referring physician when required according to established procedures
- Maintains ultrasound equipment and work area, and ensures adequate supplies are available, contacts service as required
- Monitor PACs/Synapse and RIS database for integrity of patient information and proper transfer
- May also be assigned to other modalities provided incumbent is certified or licensed in those modalities
- Comply with annual mandatory Fit Testing as a job requirement

Required Qualifications:
- Graduate of a formally accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program
- Active certification by American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS)
- Current CPR Certification
- Vascular Certification or ability to obtain in 6 months of hire
- Complete 5 hours of CME specific to Breast Ultrasound within 30 days of hire or hold an active ARDMS Breast Registry
- 1+ years of experience in field
- Basic computer skills
- Knowledge of sonographic equipment
- Knowledge of sonographic procedures and diagnosis
- Flexible to work overtime and on call as needed
- Reliable transportation
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in field
- EPIC and PACs experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to effectively communicate technical procedures and results with patients and providers
Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $28.94 to $51.63 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
