OptumRx is looking for a curious, adaptable, and self-motivated analyst to be part of our Network Pricing team. This is an intermediate analytics role where you will learn the business fundamentals of drug pricing and client performance management, the underlying data flows, and the tools and systems used in this type of analysis. The person in this role will work with and have regular exposure to analysts and projects in our global data science and network pricing teams. In addition, solid communication skills are important as this role partners with other departments including Underwriting, Legal, Account Management, Operations, and Clinical to effectively oversee client performance management.
Supports and validates Provider Network contracting and cost management activities through financial and network pricing modeling, analysis, and reporting. Conducts unit cost and contract valuation analysis in support of network contracting negotiations and cost management strategies. Manage performance reporting and associated financial models. Understands and investigates claim adjudication to ensure members are paying the correct amount. Conduct Ad hoc activities and analysis as needed.

- Knowledge of analytical tools and techniques, especially those relating to data mining & analysis. Should have ability to handle/work on medium/large data sets
- May lead functional or segment teams or projects
- Provides explanations and information to others on the most complex issues
- Motivates and inspires other team members
- Concisely summarize and communicate the results of complex analytics
- Predict emerging customer needs and develop innovative solutions to meet them
- Participate in the development of new ideas, products and/or approaches
- Detect anomalies in pricing, performance, and utilization patterns
- Collaborate independently with SMEs and cross functional partners

Required Qualifications:
- Proven extensive experience in analytics within healthcare, network management, healthcare economics, or a related discipline
- Demonstrated intermediate proficiency in pricing setup analysis, risk management, and data manipulation
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Demonstrated solid written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proven experience in data analysis, healthcare pricing, or healthcare economics
- Demonstrated intermediate proficiency in SQL or other relational database technologies
- Proven experience within PBM or broader healthcare industry environments
Soft Skills:
- Proven ability to work independently to achieve defined objectives
- Demonstrated investigative mindset, with the ability to follow leads and translate findings into meaningful insights
- Demonstrated solid project management skills, with the ability to influence cross-functionally in a rapidly evolving business environment while managing multiple concurrent projects
- Proven ability to communicate ideas effectively and concisely to all levels of management, business partners, and external stakeholders
- Demonstrated solid analytical, complex thinking, problem-solving, and troubleshooting abilities
- Demonstrated solid organizational skills and attention to detail
