Please note: There would be an initial training program on joining where there may be an expectation to work adjusted hours, depending on trainer location/availability. Following this, hours would be standard local hours with a need for some flexibility when working with US clients.

Careers with Optum offer flexible work arrangements and individuals who live and work in the Republic of Ireland will have the opportunity to split their monthly work hours between our Dublin or Letterkenny office and telecommuting from a home-based office in a hybrid work model.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Undergo comprehensive Epic training to develop expertise in your assigned area
  • Provide product function, design, build and testing for assigned Epic modules
  • Work alongside end-users to design, scope, and implement enhancements
  • Configure system settings to resolve issues efficiently, adhering to Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
  • Develop, maintain, and support critical workflow documentation, test scripts, and configuration guides for essential application functions
  • Monitor the performance of healthcare applications in real-world settings
  • Work with trainers to develop and update training materials
  • Develop solid relationships with operational stakeholders, customers and business partners
  • Collaborate with clinical and technical teams to maintain end-to-end clinical integrity across workflows
  • Work independently, taking initiative and managing tasks with minimal supervision, while also collaborating effectively within a team

Required Qualifications:

  • Proven experience working in environments that rely on technology to support daily operations, such as healthcare settings, hospitality services, billing departments, marketing teams, customer support centres, or similar roles where accuracy and smooth workflows are important
  • Proven background in help desk support, customer facing roles, or troubleshooting issues, whether technical, process related, or service related, with an ability to get to the root of a problem and guide users through solutions
  • Demonstrated solid analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use technology and data to understand challenges and improve day to day operations. Comfortable exploring and adopting new tools, including emerging AI capabilities
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot customer issues, stay calm under pressure, and work through complex situations to deliver practical and timely solutions
  • Proven ability to be adaptable and flexible in both working style and schedule. Able to switch between tasks, adjust to new environments, and participate in late or non-traditional calls when needed to support client work
  • Possesses a team focused mindset with a commitment to sharing knowledge, supporting colleagues, and contributing to a positive learning culture. Experience mentoring others or helping teams build confidence with new tools and processes
  • Proven ability to be resilient and comfortable navigating frequent changes, including shifting priorities, new technologies, or evolving client needs. Solid understanding of how to guide others through transitions
  • Demonstrated excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders such as operational leaders, client teams, technical partners, and vendors. Able to translate complex information into clear and practical terms

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant field such as healthcare, hospitality, business, billing, marketing, information technology, health informatics, or another area where customer service, problem solving, or operational work is central
  • Proven previous experience in a healthcare or clinical setting, such as nursing, laboratory services, radiology, pharmacy, operating theatre, inpatient/outpatient care, oncology, clinical specialty care environments
  • Proven previous experience working with healthcare information systems and/or electronic health record (EHR) platforms
  • Proven experience with managing tickets, documenting issues, or coordinating with internal teams or vendors to resolve challenges
