As an HL7 Integration Specialist - EHR Systems, you will serve as a liaison between end-users and provide advisory support to build and maintain health data integration components, collaborating with other information management resources within the growing Epic application team. We're particularly interested in individuals with experience of interface engines, integrations, interoperability, and health data.
We are open to reviewing applications from candidates based outside of Ireland. Visa sponsorship and relocation support will be provided for the right candidate.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain, and document internal procedures and standards supporting Epic applications and integrations
- Operate as a player coach, balancing hands on technical delivery with team leadership and day to day support
- Act as the primary escalation point for complex integration, interface, and operational issues
- Design, build, test, and maintain HL7, FHIR, API, and file based integrations across Epic EHR, ERP platforms, HIEs, cloud, SaaS vendors, and registries
- Translate business and user requirements into clear technical designs and integration specifications
- Lead and support Epic EMR implementations, including interface development, data conversion, upgrades, and post go live support
- Review, implement, and validate new functionality through system upgrades and special updates
- Provide technical guidance, coaching, and mentorship to integration team members; support hiring, onboarding, and skills development
- Partner with leadership on resource planning, on call coverage, workload balancing, and career development pathways
- Serve as a trusted advisor on integration strategy, architectural decisions, HL7 standards, and vendor engagement, acting as a bridge between end users and technology solutions

Required Qualifications:
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field, or equivalent experience
- Certifications with Epic Bridges application
- Proven experience with HL7 (Health Level Seven Standard) or any other Health Data exchange including HL7 FHIR, HL7 CDA, Web Services and HL7 v2
- Proven experience working with developing interfaces on integration / interoperability engines (at least one) such as InterSystems, Rhapsody, Cloverleaf, Mirth Connect, Microsoft BizTalk, Corepoint, Qvera, IBM Integration Bus, WebSphere Message Broker or other similar integration engines
- Demonstrated familiarity with Epic applications or other Clinical EMR system
- Demonstrated understanding of software testing approaches and prior experience performing unit testing, integration testing, etc.
- Proven experience mentoring and providing subject matter expertise to junior engineers
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint & SharePoint)
- Proven ability to be self-directed, flexible, and willing to participate in a 24x7 on call rotation
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications on any of the Interoperability / Integration Engine products such as InterSystems Ensemble, Rhapsody, Cloverleaf, Mirth Connect, Microsoft BizTalk, etc.
- Demonstrated proficiency in programming and scripting hands on C++, C#, JavaScript, VBScript or ASP.Net or any other programming language
- Proven experience with SQL, MSSQL, Oracle data management programming skills
- Proven experience with Microsoft Visio
