We are seeking a skilled Health IT Integration Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in developing and maintaining HL7 integration engine including (at least one) Cloverleaf, InterSystems-Ensemble or Rhapsody. This role requires a strong understanding of HL7 standards and the ability to work collaboratively with business users to gather interface specifications and create mapping documents.
Primary Responsibilities:
Attend discovery and planning meetings for projects and enhancements, provide hour estimates, ideas and concerns
Review security and provide what access people will need to do their job
Make recommendations and implement ideas to make things easier, more efficient and more reliable
Provide details when there will be extra costs, ie need to buy a new interface license for a project. Engaging health care organizations for interface implementations
Communicating interface requirements
Analyzing incoming data from various EHR vendors in HL7 formats
Understanding HL7 requirements
Conducting HL7 message analysis
Coordinating HL7 activities
Monitoring HL7 interfaces and resolving errors
Troubleshoot and resolve interface-related issues and provide efficient connectivity solutions
Collaborate with the IT and business teams to map interface designs for development
Ensure data security and confidentiality by implementing robust systems controls
Provide continuous support and system training to internal users
Experience in SSH, SFTP, and other related protocols
Use, develop, and maintain best practices and procedures - prioritize standardization
Develop and maintain Epic Bridges interfaces using InterSystems - Cloverleaf / Ensemble / Rhapsody as the HL7 engine
Deploy and maintain Epic vendor services applications
Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation to provide support and resolve issues
Collaborate with business users to gather interface specifications and create detailed mapping documents
Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices in health IT integration
Required Qualifications:
Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
Solid understanding of system interface design and data integration practices
Proficiency in supporting and developing interfaces using HL7 integration engines such as Cloverleaf, InterSystems Ensemble, and Rhapsody
Excellent problem-solving abilities and analytical skills - paying attention to detail
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to collaborate and function in a team-oriented environment
Willingness and ability to participate in 24x7 on-call rotation
Support a range of healthcare facilities across the US
Familiarity with healthcare industry standards and regulations
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
Preferred Qualifications:
Solid technical knowledge with Epic Bridges cert/experience
Programming experience preferred
