This position is Onsite. Our office is located at St. Mary Medical Center 1050 Linden Avenue Long Beach CA 90813.

This position is full-time, Monday - Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 7:30am - 4:00pm. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.  

We offer 4 weeks of on-the-job training. The hours of training will be aligned with your schedule.   

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Ability to handle daily scans of 240 patient records, or 60 inches of records scanned per week. 
  • Audits 75-100 cases daily for incomplete History- and- Physicals and reviews 30-45 cases daily for incomplete Operative Reports. 
  • Responsible for weekly review of un-coded cases
  • Contact physicians and initiate suspension procedures for accounts that remain incomplete 14 days post-discharge. 
  • Manages an average of 40-60 phone calls daily.
  • Handle release of information for patients 
  • Review and update transcription reports

This is high volume, customer service environment. You'll need to be efficient, productive, and thorough dealing with our members over the phone. You also must be able to work a flexible schedule that includes evening hours.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma / GED
  • Must be 18 years of age OR older 
  • 1+ years of customer service experience 
  • Ability to create, edit, save, and send documents utilizing Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to work onsite at St. Mary Medical Center 1050 Linden Avenue Long Beach CA 90813
  • Ability to work our normal business hours of 7:30am - 4:00pm, Monday - Friday

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working within the health care Industry and with health care insurance
  • Knowledge of ICD-10 
  • Experience working with Medicare and/or Medicaid Services
  • Call center experience
  • Experience working in a metric-driven work environment

Soft Skills:

  • Must be able to type and talk at the same time and navigate through multiple screens

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $16.15 - $28.80 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
