The Instructional Design Manager (Manager Operational Training) is a people leader within Design Services responsible for three core outcomes:
- Delivering high‑quality, on time learning solutions through strong project and delivery oversight
- Leading, developing, and managing instructional design talent
- Serving as a trusted learning consultant to business leaders, translating business needs into effective, scalable learning strategies
The Instructional Design Manager provides functional leadership in instructional design, ensures the application of sound learning science, and partners with stakeholders to diagnose performance needs, recommend appropriate solutions, and drive measurable business impact through learning.
Primary Responsibilities:
- People & Team Leadership
- Lead, coach, and performance‑manage instructional designers
- Support hiring, onboarding, development planning, and capacity management
- Foster collaboration, accountability, and quality across the team
- Instructional Design Leadership
- Provide functional guidance on instructional design methodologies (e.g., ADDIE, Agile)
- Review and approve learning designs and deliverables for quality, effectiveness, and consistency
- Guide design decisions on modality, learner experience, and scalability
- Consulting & Stakeholder Partnership
- Act as a trusted learning consultant to business leaders and program owners
- Diagnose performance needs and recommend appropriate learning or non‑learning solutions
- Influence stakeholders through clear recommendations and solution trade‑offs
- Project & Delivery Management
- Lead end‑to‑end execution of learning projects, ensuring on‑time, on‑scope delivery
- Manage project plans, risks, dependencies, and scope changes
- Serve as primary client contact and oversee final delivery and deployment
- Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). The Company may adopt, vary or rescind these policies and directives in its absolute discretion and without any limitation (implied or otherwise) on its ability to do so
Required Qualifications:
- College Graduate/ College undergrad (Any course)
- 3+ years of experience leading global instructional design teams
- 3+ years of experience leading instructional design projects
- Proven people management experience leading instructional design or learning teams
- Experience managing end‑to‑end learning projects in a matrixed environment
- Experience with authoring tools and LMS platforms
- Proven solid instructional design knowledge and application of adult learning principles
- Proven consultative stakeholder management and communication skills
