The Provider Credentialing Advocate is responsible for providing expertise and customer service support to providers, customers, and/or clients through a hybrid service model utilizing both phone and chat channels. You will have direct customer interaction to answer and resolve a wide variety of inquiries. You will work closely with internal and external customers to ensure proper resolution of our provider contracting, credentialing and demographic issues. Simultaneously coordinate and communicate with providers, customers, clients and/or internal partners through multiple communication channels in an effort to resolve issues efficiently and effectively.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate understanding of internal/external factors that may drive questions/issues (e.g., recent plan changes, contracting/cred changes, mass mailings, chat/call routing, weather emergencies)
  • Ask appropriate questions and listen actively to identify underlying questions/issues
  • Educate customers on self-service resources available to them, and on their responsibilities with regard to credentialing, contracting and demographic attestations, recredentialing cycles, etc.
  • Manage relationships with internal partners, to ensure coordination of resolution activities
  • Identify and coordinate internal resources across multiple departments to address situations, and escalate to appropriate resources as needed
  • Proactively contact customers as needed to address questions/issues (e.g., providers)
  • Utilize appropriate knowledge resources to drive resolution of applicable questions/issues (e.g., CAQH, APRIL tools, NDB, IMPACT, knowledge bases, product manuals, SharePoints)
  • Escalate issues as appropriate, via email and/or verbally to leaders
  • Ensure first contact resolution whenever possible providing real time education and solutions
  • Ensure proper documentation of customer interactions

Required Qualifications:

  • 1+ years client facing customer service experience
  • Intermediate proficiency with communication, interpersonal and motivational skills at an individual level
  • Intermediate business writing skills - ability to organize complex and detailed information into summaries 
  • Intermediate proficiency with multi-tasking, lead resolution for contractual and demographic disputes, partner and be accountable to leadership 

Preferred qualifications:

  • Strong organizational and technical skills
  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral
  • Able to work with a sense of urgency in tight deadline situations
  • The ability to balance multiple responsibilities effectively
  • Change champion, out of the box thinker

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $20.00 to $36.00 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
