The Clinical Value Pharmacist identifies, develops, and implements clinical and affordability strategies that improve health outcomes, optimize total cost of care, and support value-based care delivery. This role collaborates across local markets and national teams to evaluate emerging opportunities, support evidence-based decision-making, and advance initiatives related to population health, benefit optimization, and pharmacy affordability.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Program Development and Implementation
    • Reviews clinical data, utilization trends, and industry developments to identify opportunities that improve clinical outcomes, optimize affordability, and support value-based care delivery
    • Leads or supports implementation of clinical value strategies, including embedding programs within local markets as appropriate (additional licensure may be required)
    • Develops provider- and patient-facing collateral to support adoption of clinical and affordability initiatives
    • Delivers education and training to provider groups, local markets, and national teams regarding clinical value and affordability strategies
    • Monitors and evaluates initiative effectiveness and identifies opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Clinical Expertise and Governance
    • Supports clinical and operational governance committees through pipeline drug assessments, affordability analyses, policy development, and standard operating procedure (SOP) creation
    • Maintains expertise in therapeutic areas, emerging treatments, clinical guidelines, and healthcare trends to support strategic initiatives and decision-making
    • Provides pharmacist consultation and subject matter expertise to cross-functional teams and business partners
  • General Responsibilities
    • Mentors and supports peers through knowledge sharing, coaching, and professional development activities
    • Builds effective partnerships across clinical, operational, and business stakeholders to advance organizational priorities
    • Independently identifies solutions to complex and non-standard challenges
    • Performs other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Pharmacy (BS Pharm) 
  • Current, unrestricted pharmacist license in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction 
  • Successful completion of a PGY1 pharmacy residency program and at least one year of pharmacy experience, or a minimum of three years of relevant pharmacy experience 
  • 2+ years of experience in managed care, health plan, PBM, and/or GPO environments 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS) certification (e.g., BCPS, BCACP, BCGP, BCOP) 
  • 2+ years of experience working collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams within a matrixed organization 
  • Familiarity with value based care models, including shared savings and risk arrangements 
  • Intermediate or advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, including Excel (pivot tables, XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, COUNTIFS), Power BI, Outlook, and Teams 
  • Demonstrated clinical knowledge of specialty therapeutics, including infusions and injectables, with proficiency in literature evaluation and evidence based medicine 
  • Demonstrated  solid analytical and quantitative skills, including experience reconciling and analyzing medical and pharmacy claims to identify utilization trends and cost drivers

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $91,700 - $163,700 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
