Manage the monthly financial close process as well as additional accounting responsibilities and processes which cross business teams as an Accounting Consultant for UnitedHealthcare Children's Foundation (UHCCF), a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. This role will challenge you to leverage your broad financial skills and Blackbaud experience (Financial Edge and Raiser's Edge) to assist with all aspects of financial and accounting processes for the Foundation across the country. Candidates for this role must thrive in a self-starter and hands-on environment.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Accounts Payable: Import and process all weekly payments within Financial Edge (FE) accounting system, including both grant recipient payments and program payments to vendors. Additionally, maintain data integrity for AP vendor and provider records in FE
- Monthly Financial Close Process: Complete the monthly integration of all cash receipts, pledge records, and adjustments from Raisers Edge (RE) donor system into FE. Additionally, prepare month-end journal entries for transactions including inventory, corporate card expenses, grant refunds, and various others
- Monthly Grant Awards: Complete the monthly import of all grants awarded at the Regional Board of Directors (RBOD) meetings into FE. This includes importing the grant profiles and the associated grant budgets, while ensuring completeness and accuracy against the data from the Grant Managers
- Manage Purchasing Card (PCard) Transactions: On a monthly basis, distribute all PCard statement activity to team members and ensure accurate coding of expenses, which are used to create a journal entry in FE. Additionally, process the PCard payment in a timely manner and complete all other administrative duties/requirements associated with PCard activity
- Grant Manager / Operations Liaison: Work closely with Grant Managers to resolve all payment and reporting issues, coordinating the weekly AP process, accounting for grant refunds, and the entry of all profile/budgets data for monthly awarded grants in FE
- Annual Financial Audit: Work closely with auditors on an annual basis to provide all necessary data requested and address all questions regarding day-to-day financial processes
- Annual Form 1099 Filings: Work closely with UHG Corporate Tax and coordinate the annual issuance of Form 1099 to all payees. This would include correctly formatting and submitting test files, as well as the final file submission
- Raisers Edge Data Management Support: Support the daily gift recording and data management of donors and sponsors within RE
- Blackbaud System Support and Maintenance: Work directly with Blackbaud to resolve all system and reporting issues, including special requests from the RE and FE applications
- Fundraising/Awareness Events: May be requested to participate in awareness activities, including tabling events and various employee events with presentations
- All Other: Annual UHC/Optum funding request, provide/format financial reports to be used in the UHCCF Annual Report filing, and all other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
- 3+ years of accounting or finance experience
- Understanding of fundamental accounting principles/concepts and the preparation of financial statement reporting from start to finish
- High level of proficiency in MS Excel, with proficient skills in both Word and PowerPoint
- Based in Minnesota (preferably in the Minneapolis or St Paul, MN area in a commutable distance of the airport)
- Ability to travel up to less than 15% (domestic) - Flexible schedule (role may require occasional evening and weekends, primarily associated with event travel)
- Driver's License and access to reliable transportation
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1+ years of Blackbaud Financial Edge and Raiser's Edge experience
- Comfort preparing meaningful financial reports and analyses that can be translated to a broad audience
- Proven excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proven highly collaborative with the ability to work dynamically within a team, both onsite and virtually
- Proven people/customer service skills including ability to execute on promises/commitments
- Proven self-starter with the ability to work independently with a detail-oriented mindset
Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $72,800 to $130,000 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
