With these values to guide us, our people are committed to making a meaningful difference in the lives of those we are honored to serve.
At UnitedHealthcare, we're simplifying the health care experience, creating healthier communities and removing barriers to quality care. The work you do here impacts the lives of millions of people for the better. Come build the health care system of tomorrow, making it more responsive, affordable and optimized. Ready to make a difference? Join us to start Caring. Connecting. Growing together.
The healthcare experience is often complex and fragmented, with members, advocates, and brokers navigating disconnected tools and information. Our company is investing in AI to make these experiences simpler, more trustworthy, and more effective-but scaling AI requires more than great products and insights. It requires clear positioning, credible narratives, and adoption-ready go to market strategies that resonate internally and externally.
As Lead Product Manager, AI Go To Market & Narrative Prototyping, you will sit at the intersection of product strategy, go to market strategy, product marketing, brand communications, and communication design. You will help translate the team's AI insights (market intelligence, futures work, competitive signals, and partnership strategy) into high-impact communications, and you will co-author go to market and marketing strategies for new AI products and capabilities. You will also craft cohesive narratives that describe our future vision for AI in healthcare-and create mid fidelity prototypes (often using AI-assisted tools) to make the story tangible and easier for executives and stakeholders to react to.
This role is not "brand management" in isolation. It is strategic storytelling + GTM enablement-grounded in product realities and built to drive clarity, adoption, and confidence in a fast-moving AI landscape.
You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely* from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver communications that translate our team's AI insights into clear, executive-ready narratives, briefings, and visual artifacts (quarterly/annual reports, market/futures outputs, and strategic readouts)
- Co-author go to market strategies for new AI products and capabilities, including positioning, target audiences, messaging frameworks, launch planning, enablement needs, and adoption levers (internal and external)
- Create and maintain a messaging architecture for our AI product portfolio: value propositions, differentiators, proof points, and trust/responsible AI framing
- Craft future vision narratives for AI in healthcare (scenarios, "north star" experience stories, and strategic arcs) that help leaders align on direction and investment choices
- Produce mid fidelity prototypes (e.g., concept flows, storyboards, demo walkthroughs, lightweight clickable prototypes) that tie narrative to an experience-accelerating stakeholder understanding and decision-making
- Partner closely with Product, Market Intelligence, Partnerships, UX, and Enterprise Brand/Comms teams to align narrative and GTM plans to real product roadmaps, partner constraints, and responsible AI expectations
- Support executive readiness: build talk tracks, presentations, and briefing materials for leadership forums, partner engagements, and major internal milestones
Measures of Success:
- Stakeholders can clearly articulate our AI vision, differentiators, and "why now" based on your narratives and materials (executive confidence and clarity)
- GTM plans are adopted by cross-functional partners and materially improve readiness for launches (enablement quality, message consistency, internal alignment)
- Quarterly/annual insight outputs are consistently executive-ready, visually compelling, and action-oriented (increased reuse in leadership forums)
- Faster alignment and fewer cycles of ambiguity because prototypes and concept artifacts make the strategy tangible
- Messaging reflects responsible AI expectations and clears appropriate review processes with minimal rework
Competencies & Best Practices:
- GTM Craft & Product Marketing Excellence: Turns product direction into positioning, launch strategy, and adoption plans
- Narrative Design: Creates coherent story arcs that drive understanding and action
- Communication Design: Uses visual structure and language to simplify complexity
- Prototype-Enabled Storytelling: Builds mid fidelity concepts that make strategy concrete and debuggable
- Influence in a Matrix: Aligns stakeholders and navigates constraints without losing momentum
You'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.
Required Qualifications:
- 7+ years in product marketing, go to market strategy, product strategy, brand/communications, narrative/communication design, or UX design for technology-enabled products
- Demonstrated experience developing GTM strategies (positioning, messaging, launch planning, enablement) in partnership with Product and cross-functional stakeholders
- Solid storytelling ability: can synthesize complex technical/product concepts into clear narratives for executive audiences
- Demonstrated ability to create mid fidelity prototypes or concept artifacts that make strategies concrete (tools may include Figma and/or AI-assisted prototyping workflows)
- Working proficiency producing executive-ready visuals with design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite such as Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop and/or equivalent), and solid visual judgment
- Solid cross-functional collaboration skills across Product, UX, Marketing/Brand, Partnerships, Legal/Compliance/Security in regulated environments
- Comfort and willingness to travel up to 10% domestically
