We are seeking a Senior Business Analyst with strong technical and solution architecture fluency to support an enterprise automated Rating and Renewal engine critical to end to end group insurance operations. This role partners with engineering and architecture to define clear, sustainable solutions grounded in a deep understanding of system design, data flows, integrations, and regulatory needs.
The role combines advanced requirements analysis, solution design ownership, and cross application coordination to ensure data integrity, interoperability, and operational resiliency across the rating and renewal ecosystem. The platform integrates with multiple enterprise applications via APIs and web services and supports highly regulated, rules based processes. The successful candidate will collaborate with business, actuarial, underwriting, engineering, and peer technology teams to deliver well defined, technically sound solutions.
You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead end to end requirements discovery and refinement for automated Rating and Renewal enhancements, with attention to downstream impacts
- Translate business, actuarial, underwriting, and regulatory needs into clear functional and non functional requirements
- Define and document end to end solution designs, including system interactions, data flows, integrations, and operational handoffs
- Own and maintain cross application documentation such as data dictionaries, integration diagrams, and business rules
- Partner with engineering to review solution options, evaluate tradeoffs, and ensure designs are buildable, testable, and aligned to enterprise standards
- Coordinate with upstream and downstream application teams to support integration readiness and consistent system behavior
- Support testing and validation through scenario review, rating logic validation, and traceability to requirements and designs
- Participate in production support and root cause analysis, contributing system level insights and remediation recommendations
- Act as a senior thought partner by proactively identifying risks, dependencies, and opportunities to strengthen platform stability

Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience as a Senior Business Analyst, Technical Business Analyst, or hybrid BA/Architecture role in a complex enterprise environment
- Experience supporting rules based or automated calculation engines such as rating, pricing, underwriting, renewals
- Advanced experience producing durable technical and business documentation
- Solid health insurance domain expertise, particularly in group rating and renewal processes
- Proven ability to translate actuarial models, rate filings, or underwriting guidelines into system requirements and solution designs
- Solid understanding of API based architectures, relational data concepts, and enterprise data flows
- Working knowledge of SQL and database querying concepts
- Excellent organizational and communication skills across business and technical audiences
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience partnering with actuarial teams or supporting rating engine modernization initiatives
- Experience operating in regulated environments that require audit readiness and documentation rigor
- Experience supporting production systems and post-implementation stabilization
- Experience mentoring or reviewing work produced by other analysts
- Experience working in Agile delivery environments
- Familiarity with batch and real-time processing models
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $91,700 to $163,700 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
