As a full-time, TELEpharmacy Technician with Optum/CPS Solutions, you will play a key role in supporting our TELEpharmacy operations from a secure office environment. In this technology‑driven position, you will work across multiple digital platforms to assist pharmacists and patients.

You will deliver professional, phone-based customer service and medication reconciliation support to patients and healthcare partners nationwide, serving as a knowledgeable and dependable representative of our TELEpharmacy team. You will be trained to efficiently prioritize and triage incoming calls, routing them to the appropriate team members, and to identify and escalate medication reconciliation needs and pharmacy orders that require pharmacist review.

As a TELEpharmacy Technician, you are an essential part of our nationwide service team, helping ensure safe, effective, and high-quality pharmacy care for patients everywhere.

Schedule: This days and evening position is scheduled as 8-hour shifts including every other weekend equaling 40 hours per week.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Opportunity to work with a great team of individuals in a casual office environment that promotes team work.
  • Provides customer service and assists nursing staff and facilities with orders needing verification, questions and concerns, and time changes.
  • Communicates with pharmacists and supervisors regarding any facility questions or concerns, and helps ensure that these are being resolved. 
  • Speaking with hospital staff to ensure that orders are entered/verified/timed correctly so RN's have access to meds when needed.  I enjoy being the extra crutch that helps make their shift and the patient's stay more comfortable/convenient.
  • Communicates with pharmacists and supervisors regarding any facility questions or concerns, and helps ensure that these are being resolved. 
  • May provide service to claims management company, helping with rejected claims, prior authorizations, and other miscellaneous member calls. 
  • May involve typing prescriptions for patients who receive medications via mail order.
  • Performing overrides for retail pharmacy rejections.
  • Be able to work in an office environment as part of a team

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • The ability to become licensed as a Pharmacy Technician in the State of Illinois
  • The ability to obtain the PTCB Certification within one year of employment
  • Experience prioritizing, problem solving, and multitasking workload with ease
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain positive relationships via telephone

Preferred Qualifications:

  • IL Pharmacy Technician license
  • National Certification  as a Pharmacy Technician (PTCB or ExCPT)
  • A demonstrated "customer first" attitude and excellent customer service skills
  • Professional, polished and positive written and verbal communication skills

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $17.98 to $32.12 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
