The InterQual Technical Implementation Consultant plays a critical role in both leading and supporting the deployment and integration of InterQual Connect clinical decision support solutions within healthcare organizations. This position requires a unique combination of technical expertise, solid communication and interpersonal skills, and project implementation experience. Additionally, an in-depth understanding of healthcare workflows is essential to ensure the successful implementation, adoption, and ongoing optimization of InterQual Connect products.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Implementation Planning
    • The consultant collaborates closely with healthcare clients to assess their organizational needs, define the project scope, and understand existing clinical workflows. Based on this assessment, the consultant creates detailed implementation plans tailored to the deployment of InterQual solutions
  • System Integration
    • Providing technical guidance and hands-on support, the consultant manages the integration of the InterQual Connect suite with existing hospital information systems (HIS), electronic health records (EHR), and Utilization Management (UM)/Case Management (CM) platforms
  • Configuration & Customization
    • The consultant is responsible for configuring the InterQual Connect software to meet specific client requirements. This includes customizing rules, mapping workflows, and adjusting customer environment options to ensure a seamless fit
  • Training & Support
    • To promote effective use of the InterQual Connect application and administrative tools, the consultant delivers basic navigation training sessions to both end-users and administrators. Ongoing technical support is provided during and after implementation until the project is transitioned to maintenance support
  • Project Management
    • In partnership with an assigned PMO resource, the consultant manages multiple implementation projects simultaneously. Responsibilities include tracking key milestones and deliverables and facilitating communication among project stakeholders
  • Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution
    • The consultant identifies, analyzes, and resolves technical issues that may arise during the deployment and integration of InterQual Connect products
  • Client Relationship Management
    • Building and maintaining solid relationships with client IT teams, clinical staff, and management is a key focus. The consultant works to ensure client satisfaction and foster long-term success
  • Documentation
    • The consultant prepares necessary technical documentation for integration steps, including configuration guides, training materials, and technical support resources
  • Continuous Improvement
    • By gathering feedback from clients and internal teams, the consultant recommends and implements process improvements to enhance future implementations
  • Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). The Company may adopt, vary or rescind these policies and directives in its absolute discretion and without any limitation (implied or otherwise) on its ability to do so

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years with background in technical consulting or systems implementation in healthcare IT
  • Experience or a degree in Information Technology, Healthcare Informatics, or a related field; relevant technical experience is also considered
  • Experience with InterQual products or similar clinical decision support systems is advantageous
  • Thorough understanding of healthcare workflows and clinical processes
  • Familiarity with implementation methodologies
  • Proficiency in integrating clinical decision support tools with EHR/HIS platforms
  • Demonstrated strengths in troubleshooting, analysis, and problem-solving
  • Proven excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Comfortable working from 6:00PM to 2:30AM shift


Skills and Competencies:

  • Experience with XML, JSON, FHIR/HL7, SSO (SAML/OIDC/JWT), APIs, AWS CloudWatch, and Oracle P-SQL
  • Technical proficiency in healthcare IT systems and integrations
  • Customer-focused approach and commitment to service excellence
  • Solid organizational and time-management abilities
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional project team
  • Adaptability to a fast-paced, evolving environment
