Primary Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and support data storage and retrieval systems used by analytics and applications
• Perform data modeling, schema design, and optimization
• Develop and maintain ETL / ELT pipelines
• Work with data warehousing and big data platforms
• Write and maintain SQL and data transformation logic
• Support downstream analytics, reporting, and application teams that consume engineered data
• Ensure data quality, reliability, and consistency across pipelines and datasets
• Analyze existing data practices and processes to identify improvement opportunities
• Assist with cloud based data platform solutions and associated ecosystems
• Works on less structured and more complex data problems
• Serves as a technical resource to peers
• Handles nonstandard data engineering requests
• Translates data concepts into practical, production ready solutions
• Provides guidance and explanations to others within the function
• Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). Required Qualifications:

• Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
• Solid knowledge of data engineering principles
• Working knowledge of:
  • Data warehousing concepts
  • ETL / ELT frameworks
  • Large scale data processing systems 
• Understanding of cloud data platforms and data storage ecosystems
• Proficiency in SQL and data manipulation languages
• Proven ability to evaluate data design tradeoffs (performance, cost, quality)
• Proven solid analytical skills to investigate and resolve moderately complex data issues
• Proven self-directed for most tasks
