The ideal candidate is an experienced implementation project manager with a proven track record of successfully leading customer-facing software deployments in complex environments. They excel at building trusted relationships, managing competing priorities, facilitating difficult stakeholder conversations, and driving project outcomes through influence rather than direct authority. While healthcare imaging experience is preferred, candidates with strong implementation leadership skills, executive presence, and the ability to quickly learn new technologies and clinical workflows will be considered. The successful individual will be highly organized, adaptable, customer-focused, and capable of managing multiple concurrent implementations while maintaining a high level of professionalism and accountability.

Optum Enterprise Imaging is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead customer implementations of radiology and cardiology solutions across healthcare organizations. This is a customer-facing role responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering complex software implementation projects from project kickoff through go-live and project closure.

The successful candidate will work directly with customers, internal technical teams, clinical stakeholders, product teams, and leadership to ensure successful project execution. Product and implementation methodology training will be provided. While healthcare imaging experience is desirable, candidates with strong implementation project management experience from other industries are encouraged to apply.

This position operates in a highly collaborative environment and requires a project manager who can effectively lead through influence, manage competing priorities, and navigate complex stakeholder relationships. The role is largely self-directed and requires strong judgement, organization, and communication skills.

You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead multiple concurrent customer implementation projects from initiation through go-live and transition to support
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, risk registers, issue logs, and communication plans
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customer project stakeholders
  • Coordinate activities across technical, clinical, operational, and business teams
  • Facilitate project kickoff meetings, status reviews, executive updates, risk reviews, and go-live planning sessions
  • Monitor project scope, schedule, milestones, dependencies, and deliverables
  • Identify and escalate implementation risks, issues, and scope changes
  • Drive accountability across project teams to ensure commitments and milestones are achieved
  • Manage project documentation and implementation artifacts in accordance with PMO standards
  • Support customer readiness activities, testing, training coordination, go-live planning, and project closure
  • Build strong working relationships with customer leadership, operational teams, and executive stakeholders
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives and implementation best practices
  • Deliver clear and concise project updates to both customer and internal leadership teams
  • Accurate revenue forecasting

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of implementation project management experience
  • Experience leading customer-facing software, technology, healthcare, infrastructure, ERP, SaaS, or enterprise system implementations
  • Experience managing project scope, schedule, budgets, risks, dependencies, and stakeholder communications
  • Experience developing and maintaining project schedules and implementation plans
  • Proficiency with Smartsheet, Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, SharePoint, or equivalent project management tools
  • Demonstrated success managing cross-functional project teams and multiple concurrent projects
  • Proven solid facilitation, presentation, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to operate independently in a fast-paced environment with limited direction
  • Proven ability to travel up to 25% or less as required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PMP certification
  • Healthcare information technology implementation experience
  • Experience supporting hospitals, health systems, imaging centers, or clinical organizations
  • Knowledge of healthcare workflows and clinical operations
  • Familiarity with radiology, cardiology, PACS, RIS, VNA, DMS, EMR/EHR, or related healthcare systems

  • Adaptability in changing customer and project environments
  • Commitment to customer satisfaction and successful project outcomes

Products and Solutions Supported

  • Primary responsibilities will focus on radiology and cardiology solution implementations. Based on business needs, the role may also support implementations involving:
  • Stratus Imaging Archive
  • Document Management Solutions (DMS)
  • Additional Enterprise Imaging solutions and related healthcare technologies

Working Conditions

  • Primarily remote work environment
  • Customer-facing implementation role
  • Up to 25% travel based on customer and business requirements
  • Contract duration to be determined based on business needs

Canada Residents Only: The salary range for Canada residents is $66,200 to $137,400 annually. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc.
