The Associate Director, Care & Value is a strategic individual contributor and senior leader within the WellMed Care & Value organization, accountable for leading and executing enterprise initiatives focused on affordability and total cost of care. This role owns the day-to-day management and execution of 2-3 high-impact Care & Value initiatives, translating enterprise strategy into actionable plans and measurable results.
Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Care & Value, the Associate Director partners closely with regional market leadership, clinical operations, finance, analytics, and enterprise stakeholders to ensure disciplined execution through defined glide paths, provider-level expectations, and a standardized operating cadence.
This role requires the ability to influence at senior levels across a highly matrixed organization, balance strategic planning with hands-on execution, and drive clarity and alignment in complex, ambiguous environments.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Enterprise Initiative Leadership:
- Lead end-to-end planning, execution, and performance management for 2-3 enterprise Care & Value initiatives
- Translate enterprise and regional strategy into integrated workplans with clear milestones, accountabilities, and outcomes
- Influence outcomes across a complex matrixed organization without direct authority
- Serve as a core member of the Care & Value leadership team and enterprise representative
- Apply structured problem-solving to bring clarity to ambiguity and complexity
- Operating Cadence & Execution Excellence:
- Establish and maintain a disciplined operating rhythm including work planning, executive reviews, and governance
- Ensure clear linkage from strategy to priorities, execution, and performance outcomes
- Implement scalable tools, processes, and performance frameworks
- Develop standardized artifacts such as OKRs, executive narratives, dashboards, and decision logs
- Use and help develop best practices to continuously improve the Care & Value team and its initiatives
- Leadership & Culture
- Model WellMed/Optum leadership behaviors and values
- Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, partnership, and continuous improvement
- Act as a thought partner and influencer senior leaders across clinical, operational, and functional teams

Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in healthcare program management, strategy, operations, or transformation roles
- Experience working within large, complex, matrixed organizations
- Demonstrated success leading enterprise or large-scale initiatives
- Proven solid change management and stakeholder engagement skills
- Proven excellent written and verbal communication skills, including executive presentations
- Willing or ability to travel up to 10%
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Teams collaboration tools
- Proven basic analytical skills using Tableau or healthcare BI tools
- Proven solid business and financial acumen related to value-based care

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $112,700 to $193,200 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
