You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Works with corporate level management of designated accounts to design and collaborate mutually beneficial goals to increase utilization of all services and programs
  • Works with customer and management to set annual goals by product line and strategize to increase utilization of all services and programs. Meet/exceed budget goals and ensure client satisfaction
  • Facilitates and leads customer-facing opportunities including formal business reviews, annual performance reviews, roundtables, etc. Responsible for establishing and maintaining contact and effective communication with all levels of designated accounts
  • Champions Optum's various lines of business to the client - manages requirements, customization of programs, communication, prioritization and timing, and goal definition and measurement. Assists with training and education of internal and external customers as needed
  • Manages the internal communication of measurements of the client's program including account metrics, KPIs, program status, Executive Sponsor reviews and upsell opportunities
  • Analyzes overall client performance, develops initiatives designed to grow the business in new areas, and drives organic revenue growth-through the identification and development of new opportunities
  • Creates or utilizes existing tools including account profiles, communication vehicles, and strategic account plans
  • Works cross-functionally with all internal areas to resolve and track client service issues and solve problems. Champions client's programs/ initiatives.  Serves as point of contact for issue resolution and problem solving
  • Works with all internal departments to manage account initiatives and deliverables and tracks national account initiatives. Utilization of various social media channels and industry publications to promote organizational strategic marketing efforts; includes following client websites, social media, and industry publications to keep current with emerging trends
  • Travel as needed to clients, conferences, events, etc. (up to 50%)
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of account management experience
  • 3+ years of experience with Pharmacy, Ancillary, PPO, and/or claims
  • 3+ years of upsell programs to clients or sales experience
  • 2+ years of experience managing performance guarantees for clients
  • 2+ years of experience performing presentations to clients and leadership
  • 2+ years of experience running client reports
  • 2+ years of experience data analysis  
  • Intermediate to advanced experience with MS Excel experience (Pivot tables)
  • Intermediate to advanced experience with MS Power Point, Word Outlook
  • Proven solid project management experience (developing project plans, working with project teams, managing project timelines, driving project through completion)
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time (average is below 25%)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in workers' compensation account management
  • 3+ years of pharmacy account management experience

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $91,700 to $163,700 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
