As a full-time, nonexempt Specialty Pharmacy Liaison, you will assist in various specialty pharmacy liaison activities under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. Your responsibilities will include preparing, delivering, and restocking medications; performing order entry; procuring drugs; billing. You will carry out your job duties according to written procedures and guidelines based on pharmacy standards and regulatory requirements.
Schedule: This full-time, nonexempt position will work 40 hours/week, Monday-Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm.
Location: Our Specialty Clinic is located at the Foster Family Community Health Center and is part of Munson Medical Center located in Traverse City, Michigan. Munson is the regional referral center for all Northern Michigan. This 442-bed hospital has earned a national reputation for top quality care. Munson Medical Center is a verified Level II Trauma Center and has the only Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in northern Michigan.
Pharmacy Hours: The pharmacy utilizes PioneerRx, Arbor, and PowerChart. Pharmacy hours are Monday - Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary point of contact between providers, specialty pharmacies, and patients to facilitate timely therapy initiation
- Coordinate prescription intake and referrals, ensuring accurate transmission of orders and required documentation
- Support prior authorizations and benefits investigations, collaborating with payers, pharmacies, and provider offices
- Educate patients on the specialty pharmacy process, including next steps, timelines, and access expectations
- Track prescription status and therapy progress, proactively resolving access, financial, or logistical barriers
- Collaborate with clinical and care teams to support adherence, continuity of care, and patient outcomes
- Ensure compliance with program, regulatory, and organizational requirements, including documentation and reporting standards

Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Current Michigan Pharmacy Technician license in good standing
- 1+ years of experience working in a pharmacy
- Proficient computer skills including experience using Microsoft Office
- Effective communication skills; verbal and written
Preferred Qualification:
- PTCB or CPhT
PowerChart experience
Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $17.98 to $32.12 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
