Position Summary
As an Associate Quality Analyst on the Optum Clinical Data Center (OCDC) team within Optum Insight Engineering in Raleigh, NC, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of enterprise clinical data solutions hosted on Microsoft Azure. In this hybrid role, you will collaborate with software engineers, data architects, and technical leaders to design, execute, and deploy automated testing solutions and AI-driven quality tools. Your work will directly impact how clinical data is processed, integrated, and leveraged across the healthcare ecosystem to simplify clinical processes, enhance analytics, and improve patient outcomes.
Primary Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy AI-powered solutions and automated testing capabilities to address complex quality assurance challenges across Azure-based clinical data systems, with an emphasis on responsible use of AI.
- Use enterprise-approved AI tools and automation platforms to streamline testing workflows, automate repetitive test execution, and drive continuous quality improvement.
- Evaluate emerging technology trends, Azure cloud tools, and intelligent testing frameworks to inform quality strategy, test automation design, and technical innovation.
- Participate in test planning, test scenario development, and automated test execution across software engineering and data quality lifecycles.
- Identify, record, document, and manage software defects through tracking platforms while analyzing root causes in cloud-native applications.
- Execute regression testing, API testing, and integration testing on Microsoft Azure environments to ensure high data integrity, reliability, and performance prior to production deployment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional software engineering teams and product stakeholders to validate system requirements and cloud architecture.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or 4+ years of software quality engineering or software development experience
- 1+ years of experience in software quality engineering, software testing, or software development
- 1+ years of experience developing, maintaining, and executing test plans, test scenarios, and automated test scripts
- 1+ years of experience utilizing software automation platforms or developer tools to optimize engineering workflows
- 1+ years of experience working within software development lifecycles (SDLC) and standard quality assurance practices
- Hands on experience with Python or Java
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Microsoft Azure cloud services and testing Azure-hosted applications, services, or data pipelines
- Experience integrating AI/ML capabilities, intelligent automation, or generative AI tools into software development and testing workflows
- Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cucumber, PyTest, or TestNG)
- Familiarity with API testing tools (e.g., Postman or SoapUI) and CI/CD pipeline integration
- Understanding of SQL queries and relational or cloud database validation techniques
- Exposure to responsible AI guidelines, data privacy considerations, and secure cloud testing practices
- Strong problem-solving, technical analysis, and collaborative skills in an Agile/Scrum environment
Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $60,200 to $107,400 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
