The Per Diem Pharmacist will provide essential pharmacy services within an acute inpatient psychiatric facility, ensuring safe and effective medication management in coordination with doctors and nurses. This role offers the opportunity to work in behavioral health, gain experience with a unique patient population, and collaborate with a supportive team.


Pharmacy Location: This role covers shifts at Old Vineyard Behavioral Health Services in Winston-Salem, NC.

Schedule: Provides PTO coverage for existing pharmacists. Shifts will be made available Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, and weekends from 8:00 AM to 2:30 PM.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Review patient medications and ensure accurate filling
  • Respond to questions from physicians and nurses
  • Troubleshoot Omnicell system issues
  • Supervise pharmacy technicians during shifts
  • Maintain oversight and compliance for controlled substances
  • Ensure accountability and adherence to regulatory standards


About the Facility: Old Vineyard Behavioral Health Services, located in Winston Salem, NC, is a fully licensed, campus-style behavioral health hospital offering comprehensive care for adolescents, adults, and seniors. The facility delivers 24/7 inpatient programs-including crisis intervention, stabilization, detox, and specialized tracks for trauma recovery, dual diagnosis, and mood disorders-as well as outpatient services like Partial Hospitalization (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient (IOP). With a multidisciplinary team and a compassionate, patient-focused approach, Old Vineyard fosters mental wellness through evidence-based therapies in a supportive, healing environment.

Required Qualifications:

  • ACPE-accredited pharmacy degree (PharmD preferred) 
  • Active North Carolina state pharmacist license in good standing


Preferred Qualification:

  • Some hospital experience


Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $44.09 to $78.70 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
