Position Highlights & Primary Responsibilities:
In collaboration with Psychiatry and Behavioral Health (PBH) leadership, supports the planning, organization, implementation, direction, and evaluation of PBH adult integrated and collaborative care model and appropriate Centers for Excellence health care services across Optum Massachusetts. Assists in supporting, developing, and evaluating the PBH model of care. Identifies gaps or challenges to PBH models of care and brings to leadership along with potential solutions and assists in implementation of agreed upon solutions. Provides direct care to patients as an integrated/collaborative care clinician operating in primary care and Center for Excellence settings. Coordinates goals with the Chief of Adult Collaborative Care and manages and delegates program management responsibilities effectively. Uses and monitors KPIs (key process indicators) to evaluate program success and report out to leadership. Evaluates the impact of solutions to ensure strategic goals are achieved.
Builds and maintains a strong collaborative relationship with counterparts, including regular meetings, shared goals, and shared projects. In collaboration with designated counterparts in primary and specialty care, identifies areas of program weakness and develops and oversees countermeasures.
Provides leadership support and acts as a mentor to Psych & BH staff. Creates and sustains an environment that promotes accountability, teamwork, collaboration, and change. Provides direction, guidance, and leadership and cultivates collaboration and enthusiasm for effective teamwork. Leads by example in the achievement of positive patient outcomes and improving the patient experience, and acts as a role model for staff to foster values, vision, and the mission of the PBH department and Optum MA as a whole.
Supports and manages the implementation and training targets of the integrated/collaborative care and Centers for Excellence models. Communicates philosophy, workflows, and practice of the model to appropriate leadership and providers. Ensures practitioners implement the model constantly across all Centers and sites.
Connects regularly with appropriate specialty and primary care peers to ensure strong connectivity between departments and programs.
Acts as a mentor for staff clinicians through leadership, cultivating collaboration and enthusiasm. Leads by example in the achievement of positive patient outcomes and improving the patient experience. Provides direction, guidance, and leadership for effective teamwork and motivation.
Leads regular provider meetings to ensure consistent communication on key issues, strategies, and clinical initiatives. Fosters the exchange of clinical ideas, case studies/consultations, and best practices among practitioners.
Directs and supervises assigned personnel including performance evaluations, scheduling, orientation, and training. Makes recommendations on staffing levels, employee hires transfers, promotions, salary changes, discipline, terminations, and other similar actions. Resolves grievances and other personnel problems within position responsibilities.
Participates in the development of education and training opportunities practitioners to enhance clinical practice.
Disseminates information pertinent to practice such as legislation, regulatory requirements and insurance updates, etc. Communicates to practitioners about departmental and organizational initiatives, goals, and objectives.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
PhD, PsyD, LICSW or LMHC
Unlimited Licensure in the state of Massachusetts
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working within an integrated model
2+ years of clinical practice in an evidence-based collaborative care or primary care integrated treatment setting required.
Program implementation and continuous quality improvement experience
The salary range for this role is $72,800 to $130,000 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
