Primary Responsibilities:
- Epic System Build & Optimization
- Build, configure, and maintain Epic Willow medication records, orderables, order sets, preference lists, SmartSets, and SmartTools
- Maintain medication dictionaries, NDC mapping, dispense IDs, and formulary configuration within Epic Willow
- Optimize pharmacy workflows in Epic, including verification, dispensing, compounding, and clinical documentation
- Support integration between Epic and external systems (e.g., automated dispensing cabinets, IV workflow systems, pharmacy robots, BCMA, and inventory systems)
- Participate in Epic upgrades, enhancement requests, and new module implementations.
- Clinical Decision Support (CDS)
- Develop and maintain Epic CDS tools, including Our Practice Advisories (OPAs), medication alerts, dosing calculators, and therapeutic substitution logic
- Monitor alert performance, reduce alert fatigue, and ensure CDS rules reflect current clinical guidelines and organizational policies
- Collaborate with clinical leaders to implement new medication safety checks and evidence-based protocols
- Testing, Validation, & Quality Assurance
- Conduct unit, integrated, and regression testing for Epic medication-related changes
- Validate medication workflows across inpatient, ambulatory, and specialty areas
- Troubleshoot Epic issues, perform root-cause analysis, and coordinate resolution with IT and Epic technical teams
- Data Integrity, Reporting, & Analytics
- Ensure accuracy of medication master files, pricing, and formulary data across Epic and connected systems
- Support reporting needs using Reporting Workbench, SlicerDicer, Clarity, or Caboodle for medication safety, quality metrics, and regulatory compliance
- Identify data discrepancies and ensure alignment between Epic Willow and downstream systems
- Interdisciplinary Collaboration & Support
- Serve as the pharmacy subject matter expert for Epic-related projects and optimization initiatives
- Work closely with physicians, nurses, pharmacy leadership, and IT analysts to improve medication-use processes
- Provide end-user support, training, and troubleshooting for Epic medication workflows
- Participates in team/project meetings as necessary; and assists in the development of project plans by providing accurate deliverable timeframes
- Performs other similar and related duties as required or directed which include working some flexible hours to meet project deadlines or business needs
- Training, Documentation, & Change Management
- Develop training materials and job aids for pharmacists, providers, and clinical staff using Epic
- Communicate system changes, updates, and best practices to end users
- Support go-live events, workflow validation, and post-implementation optimization

Required Qualifications:
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy
- Active pharmacist license in good standing
- 3+ years of experience in the pharmacy field
- Experience with Epic EHR (Willow, Beacon, Orders, or related modules)
- Solid understanding of medication-use processes, pharmacy operations, and clinical workflows
- Proven excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Proven ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and translate clinical needs into technical solutions
Preferred Qualifications:
- Completion of PGY1 Pharmacy Residency; PGY2 in Informatics or related specialty
- Epic certification or proficiency in Willow Inpatient, Willow Ambulatory, Beacon, or Orders
- Board certification in pharmacy informatics (BCPI) or equivalent experience
- Experience with CDS build (BPAs, rules, logic), medication master file management, or Epic system integration
- Experience supporting Epic implementations, upgrades, or optimization projects
- Familiarity with data analytics tools (Clarity, Caboodle, SQL, SlicerDicer)

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $112,700 to $193,200 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
