Hospitalist Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant – WellMed Networks, Inc – San Antonio, TX
A partner of the Optum Care network, WellMed Networks, Inc, is seeking a nurse practitioner or physician assistant to join our San Antonio Hospitalist Team in our Downtown Pod. Position Highlights:
- SWING SHIFT: 2:00pm – 12:00am, Monday – Thursday
- This position my move to 7on/7off, 2:00pm-2:00am in the future
- Be a part of a collaborative and comprehensive health care team
- 100% of patients will have a WellMed employed, contracted, or affiliated PCP
- Our model is designed to provide the most efficient, comprehensive, and proven care techniques to treat the whole patient – physically, mentally, and socially
- “Quality vs. Quantity Model” – 4 to 6 admissions a night
- Patient panel is limited to geriatrics with Medicare Advantage coverage
- Bonus incentives are based on quality metrics
Compensation/Benefits Highlights:
- Base Salary plus Annual Quality Incentive with a target of $15,000

Required Qualifications:
- Certification through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), or the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
- Current Licensure through the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners OR Licensed Physician Assistant by the Texas State Medical Board
- Valid DEA license or the ability to obtain one prior to employment
- 1+ year of clinical experience as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
- Comfortable managing a primarily Medicare-aged patient population
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) fluency
- A working understanding and support of a managed care environment
